Shenzhen (Tsinghua) Tongfang is the same manufacturer that has brought you the PMC-V800 so it shouldn’t surprise us that one of their MP3 players, dubbed PMP 11, is both familiar and strange. First off, we can only gaze in amazement at the sea-blue screen, which is surprisingly only measures 2.0 inches. How do they make it so peace-ful looking? one might ask. Secondly, what appears to be a row of platinum albums are actually the control buttons. Thirdly, the brushed metal exterior all but sends us to the U.F.O loving 80s where we almost joined a cult that praises a giant meteorite wrapped in aluminum. Well, enough personal details and now for some bad news: sadly, the PMP 11 or “AquaPad,” as the etched letters below the buttons suggest, only plays WMA and MP3 files with no support for video playback. Bummer, isn’t it? However, you can totally view JPEGs on the calming TFT LCD screen and listen to FM radio. Hope someone puts some video playback on this thing before selling it retail (currently only available wholesale).
