Qualcomm Shows two PMPs, will Never Release Them

The Fairbanks is a PMP with GPS and mobile TV functionality, a microSD slot and 3MP camera that does stills and video. The device uses a Windows CE-based lightweight GUI.

The Anchorage has a 1GHz processor said to operate at 1/2 watt peak. It comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, MediaFLO and cellular connectivity, and a QWERTY keyboard.
It’s sad that these promising-looking devices will never be available, due to the fact that Qualcomm had them built just to display the capability of its Snapdragon platform. Strangely enough, it appears that both don’t actually use this platform, relying on existing chipsets instead।
